Memorial weekend is nigh, and that means it’s almost time for one of the most highly anticipated events in Chagrin Falls. Blossom Time is almost upon us. Let’s take a look at the upcoming Blossom Time 2019 and all the weekend’s festivities.
Day 1: May 23, 2019 (Thursday)
Blossom Time 2019 will kick off when the gates to the carnival in Chagrin River Park open late in the afternoon. It will be followed shortly by the crowning of this year’s Blossom Time Queen.
At around 8:00 in the evening, everyone is invited to head to Chagrin Falls High School for the Balloon Glow, one of Blossom Time 2019’s event highlights. The carnival in Chagrin River Park will then close at 11:00 in the evening.
Day 2: May 24, 2019 (Friday)
For the second day of Blossom Time 2019, carnival rides will be open to the public as early as 2:00 in the afternoon. If you are a fan of pies or know someone who can devour as many pies in a short period of time, head to the pie eating contest, which is slated to begin at 6:00 in the evening.
If you’re not into that, you can go straight to Chagrin Falls High School to secure a good spot for the hot air balloon launch, which will take place at 6:30 in the evening.
Day 3: May 25, 2019 (Saturday)
The Saturday festivities for Blossom Time 2019 will start with a kid’s program to be hosted by Give Chagrin Valley at 9:00 in the morning. At 10:30 am, the carnival rides in the park will open.
If you didn’t have the chance to check out the hot air balloon launch the day before, you can still head to Chagrin Falls High School at 6:30 in the evening to witness one of Blossom Time 2019’s highlights.
Throughout the day, starting at 10:00 in the morning, everyone is invited to check out Taste of Chagrin on the Triangle. There will be over 20 food trucks and vendors serving delicious meals and refreshing drinks until 8:00 in the evening.
Day 4: May 26, 2019 (Sunday)
The last day of Blossom Time 2019 begins with the Blossom Time Run. Registration and race kit pick-up will start at 7:00 in the morning at the Chagrin Falls Township Hall. The gun start for the 5.25-mile run and the mile-long fitness walk will be at 9:00 am. Kids participating at the 1/4 mile kiddie run will get their chance at 10:15 am.
If you would like to register for the Blossom Time Run, you can do so at the Chagrin Falls Township Hall until May 24 at 9:00 in the morning.
At 2:00 pm, the Blossom Time Parade will start at Chagrin Falls High School and make its way to the heart of the town. If you would like to be part of the parade, fill up this form here. At 10:00 in the evening, Blossom Time 2019 will close.
