  1. Visit the animals of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Take the kids (and the kids-at-heart) for a fun day out at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Together, learn more about the many animals that reside in the zoo, as well as efforts to conserve and protect wildlife.

Better yet, you can enroll the children to their Summer Day Camp and Conservation Leadership Camps (open to children ages 10-14) so they can remain active and productive throughout the season.

  2. Go on a DIY beer tour in Cleveland.

Cleveland has emerged as a craft beer destination, and these drinks will, for sure, prove to be popular drinks to quell the summer heat. Go on your own or arrange a tour with your beer-loving friends to find the best craft brews in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

You can start your tour by checking out these five local beers from Cleveland’s best breweries.

  3. Explore Northeast Ohio’s hiking trails and nature preserves.

Summer is an ideal season to appreciate the grandeur of the great outdoors, especially in this region. You can trek to a preferred fishing spot deep within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for some peace and quiet. If you’d like to learn more about environmental stewardship, visit the Nature Center at Shaker Heights.

Now, if you want to completely disconnect, how about a hiking trip to explore the best hiking trails in Moreland Hills?

  4. Party the night away at Solstice 2019.

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s annual Solstice party is one of the most highly anticipated events in the city. Missing Solstice 2019 is an absolute no-no, especially when this year’s artist lineup (headed by DJ King Britt) is this good.

Of course, you should also take the chance to go on a late night exploration of the museum. For this year, you can view exhibits like Shinto: Discovery of the Divine in Japanese Art in a whole new light.

Solstice 2019 will be held on June 22, 2019, from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. Regular tickets cost $90 and are already on sale.

  5. Visit Chagrin Falls for Art by the Falls.

Summer is also a fine time to experience Chagrin Falls’ local art scene through the 36th Annual Art by the Falls.

Usually held at Riverside Park, this nationally recognized festival will feature the works of over 120 national artists. It may be your time to snag a piece from your favorite painter, or even a nice artwork to liven up your home. Make sure to go early as Art by the Falls attracts 10,000 to 15,000 visitors every year!
