CMC features several learning and playing areas where children can have fun and let their imagination run wild. There’s also an outdoor space where guests can enjoy a nice picnic – bring your own drinks and snacks, and enjoy the weather.

Highlights include Adventure City, a two-story playground where kids can run, climb, and explore, and Wonder Lab, where children can tinker with the water tables. Other discovery stations include the Making Miniatures Exhibit Arts and the Parts Laboratory, where kids can paint, make puppets, and more.

Guests can bring their own lunch – housed in a former mansion, the museum has a lunchroom where kids and their guardians can rest and have a snack or two.

The museum offers engaging exhibits, programs, and educational activities for children of all ages to help pique their interest in science and the natural environment. Kids will especially love the dinosaur exhibition, which tells the story of the magnificent pre-historic creatures that once walked the earth.

Other highlights include the Smead Discovery Center, Ralph Perkins II Wildlife Center & Woods Garden, and The Nathan and Fannye Shafran Planetarium & Ralph Mueller Observatory. These discovery stations provide rich learning experiences in a fun and immersive environment.

The on-site Zack Bruell Restaurant serves fantastic cuisine using seasonal locally-sourced ingredients. The menu includes crowd pleasers like turkey burgers, mac n’ cheese, and all beef hotdogs.

The museum currently requires guests to purchase advance tickets due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium transports children to a magical underwater world through 50 exhibits across eight colorful galleries. Highlights include the Touch Pool in the Coastal Boardwalk, where guests can see and touch friendly stingrays, and the Sea Tube, where they can watch sharks and other magnificent sea creatures from a fiberglass tunnel.

A trip to the aquarium can teach children their role in marine life conservation as well as become aware of pollution, climate change, and other environmental challenges through age-appropriate exhibits. Masks are required for guests ages 2 and older.

Catch family-friendly live performances at the Children’s Theatre at Playhouse Square, where a season ticket provides access to several world-class productions each year. These wonderful shows can help instill an appreciation for the theater arts in young children, as well as provide wholesome entertainment and inspire forays into singing, acting, and dancing.

Season 2019-20 ticket holders can stream the theater’s lineup of shows for free. Playhouse ticket holders will also be notified of shows that have been postponed due to COVID-19.
