You don’t have to travel outside of Ohio to see exotic animals from all over the world. The home of the Cincinnati Reds, the first professional baseball franchise, the Great American Ballpark is one of the most iconic stadiums in the country. While equipped with modern-day facilities, the venue has many nods to the national pastime’s deep history. For instance, there’s a park where you can find statues of early baseball legends such as Frank Robinson, Joe Nuxhall, and Joe Morgan. There’s also a rose garden dedicated to Pete Rose, who both played for and eventually managed the Cincinnati Reds.

Cedar Point

Sandusky, OH

What’s summer without a visit to a theme park? Luckily, Ohio residents can head over to Cedar Point, the self-proclaimed roller coaster capital of the world. And with its 18 world-class roller coasters, it definitely lives up to that title. The park’s signature ride is the Millennium Force, the world’s first giga-coaster with a top speed of up to 93 miles per hour. Not really into roller coasters? There are over 70 other rides you can try! And if you need to escape the summer heat, there’s even an 18-acre waterpark on the premises.
