How/Where to Give Back: Nonprofits and Charities in Chagrin Valley

The spirit of giving is alive and well in Chagrin Valley, and there are plenty of ways you can support a cause of your choice. Here are a few of my personal recommendations:

Chagrin Falls Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a local nonprofit and volunteer-led home delivery service that provides nutritious meals at an affordable cost to residents of Chagrin Falls, Newbury, Bainbridge, Auburn, and nearby communities.

How to donate: You can donate an amount of your choice online or via mail. They also provide the option to pledge any amount as a gift In Memory Of or In Honor Of a designated individual.

Rescue Village

Rescue Village is a non-profit animal welfare organization and adoption center with a mission to foster harmonious relationships between animals and humans. They also offer humane education programs and low-cost spay/neuter services.

How to donate: Donations can be made in cash as a one-time or recurring pledge. You can also buy food, milk, toys, blankets, and other items from the shelter wish list and foster wish list.

Chagrin Foundation for the Arts

Since its launch in 2007, Chagrin Arts has grown from a small non-profit organization to a flourishing center for the arts. Their primary goal is to enrich the lives of the community through meaningful arts programs that champions equity, diversity, and social justice.

How to donate: Chagrin Arts is largely community-supported, and you can help by pledging any amount in person, online, over the phone, or via mail.

Chagrin Valley Little Theater

As one of the country’s first local community theaters, Chagrin Valley Little Theater (CVLT) looks to cultivate local talent in the different fields of performance arts through innovative and inclusive arts education.

How to donate: CVLT accepts donations and tax-free gifts or qualified charitable distributions. Pledging money helps a great deal but another great way to contribute is volunteering to be part of a production. There are many ways to help and a little bit of your time and enthusiasm is always greatly appreciated.

Western Reserve Land Conservancy

One of the largest land trusts in the country (and the largest in the state), Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s mission is to ensure, through land preservation, that people throughout eastern and northern Ohio will have enduring access to natural assets.

How to donate: You can support the conservancy’s work through various ways: one-time or recurring donations, a planned gift, or preserving your land. You can explore your charitable giving options here.
