About Solon City School District

Established in 1895, Solon City School District has won numerous awards and accolades since its foundation. Let’s look back at some of the school district’s many achievements.
- Just this year (2018), Solon City School District was named as the “Best School District in America” by Niche.com, an academic rating organization.
- Solon City Schools earned another #1 school report card in Ohio for its second consecutive year.
- There are only two school districts in Ohio that has been awarded the All A Award and Momentum Award. One of those school districts is Solon City Schools, of course!
- Solon City Schools has been recognized by Cleveland magazine as the top school district in the state yet again. The school district has occupied that spot for the ninth consecutive year.
- Solon High School is nationally recognized and is ranked as the 15th best high school in the state by U.S. News. When it came to the 2017 national rankings, Solon High School earned the 386th spot and the 81st among STEM high schools. Students from Solon High School excel in math and English, and all display high AP passing rates.
- Solon High School has proved to be great launching pad for exemplary youth. In 2016 alone, the high school produced 24 National Merit Commended Scholars, 23 National Merit finalists, and two National Achievement Scholars. Those numbers make Solon High School one of the largest producers of National Merit students in the country.
