Top 4 art galleries in Chagrin Falls

Chagrin Falls has made a name for itself as one of the most beautiful places to live in eastern Cuyahoga County not only because of its abundance of natural sights and attractions. The village also fosters a vibrant and thriving art scene. Art galleries are scattered across the community, including:

  1. Valley Art Center

Located on Bell Street near downtown Chagrin Falls, the Valley Art Center is a visual arts hub that has provided the city—and its surrounding areas—with art classes, art exhibitions, and art shopping for the last five decades.

At present, the Valley Art Center offers over 400 classes and workshops on drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry, and metalwork, to name just a few. These classes are open to aspiring artists, regardless of their age and skill level.

The Valley Art Center also hosts Art by the Falls, an annual fine arts and contemporary crafts festival that has celebrated the exceptional artwork and talent of artists from all over the country for the last four decades. Held every second week of June, this event typically attracts audiences of up to 15,000 annually, making it one of the biggest art-related festivals in the region.

The 40th Art by the Falls will be held on June 8-9, 2024.

  2. The Glass Asylum

Located on West Orange Street, The Glass Asylum sells handmade decorative and functional glassware such as sculptures, household objects, and lighting fixtures, all of which can be made to a buyer’s specifications.

Known as Northeast Ohio’s premier glass-blowing studio, The Glass Asylum offers glassblowing classes for interested individuals, during which they get hands-on training on how to create pieces such as paperweights, vases, bowls, cups, and more. These classes can accommodate individuals as young as six years old, although minors will need a parent or guardian to complete a safety waiver to participate.

  3. GHill Art

GHill Art along Washington Street is the studio and gallery of local contemporary artist Greggory Hill, who experiments with mathematically generated artwork. This is the place to be for those who want edgy, modern pieces for their home, with the gallery featuring everything from expressionist cityscapes to modernist portraits.

  4. Griffin Gallery

Fans of fine art photography will do well to check out Griffin Galleries on North Main Street, Chagrin Falls. Some of the shots here were taken by master photographers such as Ansel Adams, Frank Worth, Ruth Orkin, and Steve McCurry. Original illustrations by artists like Charles Schulz, Dr. Seuss, Chuck Jones, and Maurice Sendak can also be found at Griffin Gallery.
